The Tap Initiative November Trip

This November, the Tap Initiative took things to the next level! Starting bright and early at 10 a.m., we hosted one of our biggest trips, with 30 enthusiastic new freshmen members bringing along their friends. The energy was incredible, and it was clear this would be a day to remember.

This time, we were to dig up the soil and transport it to designated sections for planting. To tackle this ambitious job, we divided into two teams. One group grabbed shovels and got straight to work, digging and filling buckets with soil. The other team managed transportation, loading the buckets into a pickup truck and driving them to the drop-off site. The soil was carefully spread out from there to prepare for future planting.

The collaboration between the teams was amazing. Everyone had a role, and seeing new members jump in enthusiastically was inspiring. Whether digging, hauling buckets, or coordinating the loading process, everyone gave their all, and the progress was impressive.

Of course, all that hard work required fuel, and nothing hits the spot like pizza. We took a much-needed lunch break to recharge, sharing laughs and stories over some delicious slices. The camaraderie was just as rewarding as the work itself.

After lunch, we returned to it, continuing until 4 p.m. By the end of the day, the designated sections were fully prepped and ready for planting. The transformation was incredible; everyone was proud of what we’d accomplished together.

This trip was a reminder of what makes the Tap Initiative so special: teamwork, dedication, and the chance to make a tangible impact on our environment. Seeing how much we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose is always inspiring.

A huge shoutout to everyone who joined us for the November Tap Trip—especially our freshmen members, who brought so much energy and excitement. We can’t wait to see you all at the next one!
